Do the techniques mentioned in the book ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ work in real life?

Rich Dad Poor Dad – this book by Robert Kiyosaki is a revolutionary piece of writing. It basically redefines several common terms that we have been using for ages. Though there are innumerable self-help books that are available in the market which boast themselves of revealing the so-called “money-making secrets”, this book is an exception. This book based on the real-life experiences of Robert Kiyosaki talks of what the rich people teach their children about money, which the middle class and the poor fail to teach.

Indeed, there are contrasting opinions prevailing in this regard. Most of the people agree with it when Robert says that it is his real-life story. But some people are reluctant when it comes to agreeing with it. This is because these people think that the lessons that Robert writes about in Rich Dad Poor Dad are not practical.

As far as Robert is concerned, all the incidents written in Rich Dad Poor Dad, are real-life experiences that he faced. All lessons that he describes in the book, were taught to him and his friend Mike, by Mike’s father – whom he calls his ‘Rich Dad’.

This question arises in the minds of almost every reader of Rich Dad Poor Dad. But Robert is consistent in telling that it is his real-life story. Indeed, Robert publicly owes his success to his Rich dad and his Poor dad. The lessons he learned by thinking of the contrasting lessons taught by each of his fathers are the reasons behind his success.

Robert in Rich Dad Poor Dad talks about Robert Frost, his favourite poet. The most favourite poem of Kiyosaki, written by Robert Frost, is “The road not taken”. The road not taken is a poem where Robert Frost writes about a road which diverges into two different paths, one which seems to be most preferred and most travelled, and the other which looks untouched and less chosen.

Frost writes that he is sorry that he couldn’t take both the roads. This is what Robert Kiyosa ki refers to when he says that he had to choose to listen to one of his dads, either the rich one or the poor one.

This question carries its answer in itself. The question that arises when we read any self-help book, or books related to money-making, is whether or not the things discussed work in real life. Well, it depends. But now, talking about RICH DAD POOR DAD, it does surely work!

What we should understand is that Robert Kiyosaki has written Rich Dad Poor Dad with all the experiences and lessons that he learned from his life. When those lessons have worked in his life, why not in ours !!?

Moreover, not every typical human running behind success gets it. This is because, whenever we think of success, we think of working for money. But as said before, this book redefines such thoughts. Robert writes that his rich dad taught him that money should work for us, rather than we working for money. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it!?

But what we should realize is that this book, when read and applied, can surely take you to greater heights. When one fellow human being has achieved much, just by using these lessons, and when he wishes that every human gets to know it, why not try?
